Meathead Films: Transitions to a new era of Internet Publishing

When I created a website last summer for the guys at Meathead Films, we took a farily traditional web site approach. There would be news updates, photos, and of course an online store. While we had given life to some slick features including an interactive tour map, their media management system (a custom application I wrote called Publishr) was still in it's infancy. The system lacked the ability to manage media and assets independently of the website. Publishr was hardly the scalable powerhouse that it's predecessor- Legitify Studio has become.

After a strong push to move the entire site including videos, 1000 photos, 70 blog entry updates into Studio, the Meatheads are now reaping all the benefits of Studio including Flash Video encoding on the fly, quality and performance tuning- and the ablity to publish their videos seamlessly in an iTunes podcast. Along with a few other aesthetic alterations to the website, there is a new theater template sporting a high quality (HD 1080i encoded into .flv)

The new store hooked in to Studio will be launching soon. I got sidetracked by creating the intro animation to the new film - Wanderland.
